Two knights ready for the joust. The spears are pointy. The horses eyes were covered because the horses had more sense than to get involved in this silliness. When originally tried without covering the horses eyes, the horses just said no (or was that nay?). The armor over the horses' faces usually had eyes painted on--perhaps this made the horses feel better about being blinded--but they couldn't see and didn't know another guy with a pointy spear was headed their way.
